June: June watched him, waiting for his answer though he wouldn’t look at her when he spoke. She stayed quiet, letting the silence sink in. Slowly, she sat up and climbed onto his lap, straddling him. Her hand guiding his face to look at her. “You are the first person I have ever trusted fully. Even before all of this nonsense. Rick: Rick sat back on the stiff stool positioned at the end of a desk. Most of the table was covered with files while the remained held Flag’s still steaming dinner. Boxes of fresh Asian flavors he brought to share with June–his girlfriend? His girlfriend. One particular stack of paper stood out among the others. The topic was on everyone’s mind; The Registration Act, and who would be signing. The packet appeared untouched. Rick had a sneaking suspicion Amanda paid Moone a visit, maybe hours ago, before he’d returned from the short trip to grab them take out. He picked and tossed around his rice with a pair of chopsticks, lowered his gaze, while asking, “‘she want you to sign it?” Maybe he’d be surprised…
