Enchantress growled under her breath, getting annoyed by the meat sack and his constant excuses. “And while you have my heart, I’ll keep her.” Enchantress told him. There was no telling what the witch would do when her heart was returned to her. Enchantress teleported across the room, a smirk on her face as she slowly approached him, teleporting between movements. “If you kill me, I am taking her with me.” She then leaned over him. “I know what you want but also what you fear.”
As Enchantress mentioned the significance of his decision a very real sense of dread washed over the soldier. Of course he wanted June back… but under such terms she would never be able to forgive Flag, Rick wouldn’t be able to forgive himself. He was already so certain of what he had to do, how to make the right decision–though it wouldn’t be the easiest or safest alternative for any of them. “… I’m sure you do,” Rick’s voice was more distant than impressed by the witch’s apparent ability. “but that’s about all you know, Enchantress. I’ve made my promises to her, we have an arrangement, and I will accept the consequences in order to stop you.” Rick’s chest felt like it was slowly caving in as the weight of his words were exposed this time.
